Back Office Medical Assistant
Position Description: The back office medical assistant escorts patients into treatment rooms and performs the medical intake assessment. The medical assistant provides patient care, doctor assistance, assures facility cleanliness, and updates patient charts.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains patient flow into treatment rooms
- Prepares patients to be seen by the doctor
- Takes X-Rays and prepares medical instruments
- Cleans treatment rooms between patients
- Inventories supplies and maintains equipment
- Maintains a high level of patient care
- Updates patient charts
- Maintains patient confidentiality and security according to HIPAA guidelines
- Assists with front office tasks and other responsibilities, as requested
Experience & Skills:
- Medical Assistant certification – Podiatry experience strongly preferred
- X-ray operations
- Electronic Medical Records
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Professionalism in interpersonal interactions and personal presentation/appearance
- Bilingual, preferred
Job Type: Part-time (approx. 20 hrs/week)
Salary: commensurate with experience
