In-Office Ambulatory Foot Procedures in Houston, TX

In-office foot procedures in Houston, TX
Not every foot problem requires a trip to the hospital. Many common foot and toe conditions can be treated quickly and comfortably right in our Memorial City office. These in-office ambulatory procedures let you walk in, receive treatment under local anesthetic, and walk out the same day, often returning to normal activities within a day or two.

What Is an Ambulatory Procedure?

An ambulatory procedure is a minor surgical or medical treatment performed on an outpatient basis, without general anesthesia or a hospital stay. Dr. Ken Dennis numbs the treatment area with a local anesthetic, completes the procedure in our treatment room, and sends you home with clear aftercare instructions.

What to Expect

Before your procedure, Dr. Dennis will explain what will be done and answer your questions. After the area is numbed, most procedures take 15 to 30 minutes. You’ll receive dressing and care instructions, and we’ll schedule a follow-up visit to check your healing.

When Surgery Is Needed

In-Office Procedure FAQs

Are in-office foot procedures painful?

The treatment area is numbed with a local anesthetic, so most patients feel only the initial injection and mild soreness afterward.

How long do in-office procedures take?

Most in-office procedures take 15 to 30 minutes from start to finish.

Can I drive myself home after an in-office procedure?

Most patients can drive themselves home, since only local anesthetic is used. Dr. Dennis will let you know if your procedure requires a driver.

How soon can I return to work?

Many patients return to work and normal activities the next day, depending on the procedure and the demands of their job.

Can procedures be done on the same day as my exam?

In many cases, yes. Procedures such as ingrown toenail removal or wart treatment can often be performed at your first visit.

Are in-office procedures covered by insurance?

Most medically necessary in-office procedures are covered by insurance and Medicare. Our team can help verify your benefits.
